Welcome! I'm so glad you're here

I am a board-certified family medicine physician with training in lifestyle medicine. I love what I do and put an emphasis on building relationships with my patients in order to deliver personalized, high-quality medical care. I believe that an individual's health has many contributing factors or "roots" - hence the name of the practice - from our genetics, to where and how we grew up, our families and the multitude of cultural and social influences we experience on a daily basis. Therefore, my approach to care takes each patient's roots into consideration when working with them. With this approach, we develop an individualized plan together allowing each person to grow at their own pace and in their own way on their journey towards health and personal well-being.

I am originally from Northern Virginia and attended the College of William and Mary where I majored in history and women's studies. After undergraduate and a few years doing a variety of jobs and travelling, I decided to pursue medicine first with a post-baccalaureate at VCU then matriculating into their medical school. I stayed locally for residency completing family medicine training at St Francis Medical Center in Midlothian, Virginia. I have been practicing in the Richmond area since 2018.

Outside of the office I am a mother to five children under 10

so my day-to-day life is full of packing lunches, driving to various activities and trying to keep up with a never-ending mountain of laundry. In the free moments between school pick-up and soccer practice I try to stay active and enjoy trying new recipes.  I do my best to keep up with my reading list, thanks to my Libbie App which is a gamechanger when rocking a baby to sleep.
