I am a board-certified family physician with specialized training in lifestyle medicine. I love practicing medicine and prioritize building strong relationships with my patients to provide personalized medical care of the highest quality. I understand that an individual’s health has numerous contributing factors, or 'roots'—which inspired the name of my practice. These factors range from our genetics and upbringing to the diverse cultural and social influences we encounter daily. By taking each patient's roots into account, I adopt a holistic approach to care, allowing us to collaboratively develop a plan that meets you where your are at on your health journey. 

I am originally from Northern Virginia, and attended the College of William and Mary, where I majored in history and women's studies. After completing my undergraduate studies and gaining varied experiences through travel and diverse jobs, I decided to pursue medicine. I completed a post-baccalaureate program at VCU and subsequently matriculated into their medical school. I remained local for my residency, finishing my family medicine training at St. Francis Medical Center in Midlothian, Virginia. Since 2018, I have been practicing in the Richmond area.

Outside of the office, I am a mother to five children under the age of ten, which means my day-to-day life is filled with packing lunches, driving to various activities, and tackling an ever-growing mountain of laundry. In the brief moments between school pick-ups and soccer practices, I make an effort to stay active and enjoy experimenting with new recipes. I also try to keep up with my reading list, thanks to my Libbie App, which is truly a lifesaver when rocking a baby to sleep.
